Extended logic for the “Date of Loss” validation behaviour

The logic used to validate a Date of Loss recorded in a Claim has been extended and improved to better manage those scenarios where an endorsement is present.

A Validation Error (Red Banner) no longer prevents the User from updating the Claim after an endorsement has altered the Validity Period of the Policy the Claim was originally logged against.

In this New Business (with dates 10-07-23 to 10-07-24):

A Claim is logged with DOL and Date notified within the Validity: First logged on the 11-07 then moved to 15-07

Policy events are displayed as follows:

When endorsing the NB on a date that falls before the DOL:

A warning asks to confirm:

Clicking CANCEL the User gets redirected back to the “Endorse Policy” Screen.

By clicking CONFIRM, the system proceeds to the “Policy Edit” Screen.

The Endorsement is then posted.

When moving the DOL to be on the 12-7 (therefore falling into the now expired -1) a warning is displayed:

By clicking CANCEL the screen reverts back to the Create/Edit Claim Screen with the DOL unchanged. By clicking CONFIRM, the DOL is updated:

When clicking SAVE, a yellow banner is displayed:

And the Policy Events Panel show a record for both the warning and the change:

Hard Validation (Red Banner) is still in place for invalid dates. For example when the DOL is changed to be 1 day before the start of the NB or after the end of the current Policy.

(Note that the date automatically reverts back to the previously selected valid one.)

Or when the DOL is not consistent with the Date notified. (In this case, the DOL remains as per last selection, and the User has to resolve the mismatch.)

Further Updates of the Claim Details are allowed with no Validation/Warning.

Changes made to the “Date notified” field are also recorded as part of the Claim Events. (JAVPM-1852)

Troubleshooting

This extended functionality relies on the Claim Event Type system list:

Make sure the list is up-to-date (via the refresh button on the right of the page) and that the entries for the date of loss and date notified are active in the system.
