At JAVLN, our top priority is the security of our systems and your data. To achieve this, we've implemented a core security policy that involves geo-blocking all direct connections from outside our defined Asia Pacific operating region. This is a fundamental layer of our security, meticulously designed to protect against unauthorised access and mitigate risks.
Why We Geo-Block
We implement this policy for several key reasons:
Protecting Against Unauthorised Access: By limiting direct access to specific regions, we significantly reduce the attack surface for malicious actors attempting to breach our systems.
Mitigating Risks from Insecure Networks: This policy helps us prevent access from potentially insecure networks, such as public Wi-Fi in hotels or cafés, where data could be more vulnerable to interception. Insecure networks can be a common source of cyberattacks, especially for individuals travelling.
Minimising Exposure to Evolving Cyber Threats: In an ever-changing threat landscape, geo-blocking acts as a proactive measure to minimise our exposure to emerging cyber threats originating from outside our controlled environment.
As a result of this policy, we are currently unable to grant direct access from locations outside our standard supported Asia Pacific regions.
How to Access JAVLN from Unsupported Regions
We understand that your teams in locations outside our supported regions may still need to access JAVLN services. A common and very effective solution for situations like this is to utilise a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
A VPN would allow your teams to establish a secure connection through a server within our supported Asia Pacific region, thereby bypassing the geo-blocking while maintaining a high level of security.
If you have any further questions about accessing JAVLN, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
